Country Music Singer films music video with SCS

6 June 2007

Country Music Singer Nellie Donovan has recently released her latest single 'Steppin Out'. In filming the clip to this song Nellie contacted Sunshine Coast Skydivers to film her litteraly Steppin Out.

Nellie Donovan came from a simple background, growing up with three older brothers and loving parents on a dairy farm in Conondale, Queensland. It was a happy childhood and Nellie was kept busy with horse riding, fishing, motorbike riding, rodeos, picnic races, and local dances to attend. It was only later in life, after she landed a lead role in her grade 12 production of “Grease Lightning” that Nellie found her true calling and began to follow a path in music. From there she started singing at friends weddings and it wasn’t long before Nellie was fronting a local cover band performing in clubs and corporate functions around Queensland.

Sunshine Coast Skydivers is proud to be able to push a local talent and look forward to the film clip being released on CMC (Country Music Channel) later this year.

Tibor Glesk National Champ Again

15 May 2007

Tibor Glesk has set a new Australian Parachute Federation record at the weekend competing in the 46th Australian National Style and Accuracy Championships. The Managing Director of Sunshine Coast Skydivers (Caloundra) was successful in setting a new record in the Accuracy section of the Championships.

The accuracy competition sees skydivers jump from 3500 feet with the objective of landing on a disk approximately 3 centimetres in diameter. Over ten jumps the distance from this marker at each landing is measured and scored. Tibor Glesk set a new Australian record with an accumulated score of 6 centimetres over his 10 jumps. The next closest competitor came in at 23 centimetres.

The latest achievement is yet another award for Sunshine Coast Skydivers who have boasted National Champions within their ranks for many years. Tibor himself has won 27 Gold Medals at these Championships over the past 13 years and has won numerous titles in Europe .

Sunshine Coast Skydivers is excited to once again have the National Champion within their ranks which highlights the quality of tandem masters that service the public each and every day.
